For a 200- by 200-ppi scan in black and white, the claimed speed for the DR-3080CII is 32 ppm for duplex scanning, it's twice that number, at 64 images-or sides of a page-per minute (ipm). Scan speed varies with settings like resolution and color depth.
You can use the folio feature to scan a folded piece of paper and let the software reassemble the left and right sides-scanned as front and back-into one page. Once you've learned your way around them, however, you'll find some highly useful touches, including a folio-scan feature. The driver and scan programs are easy to use, but neither is explained well in the manual. If you need other software, you'll have to buy it. Its software is limited to a Twain and ISIS driver and the CapturePerfect scan utility.
